The staff is friendly and the service is good. Prices are reasonable. Ambiance is rustic yet quaint. The ribs I had were not good. The tips were very overcooked and the rest was okay. The burgoo soup was yummy. The beans were good.
You can order off the menu here but why would you want to? They have a great selection on the food bar and salad bar and dessert bar. All kinds of choices. It used to be the place to go for barbecue if you wanted to eat a lot of it. The barbecue has gone downhill since the Old Man Died. They're chopped barbecue is like eating mush. I wish they would do pulled pork instead of chopped pork. Other barbecue is okay, the cubed pork is good. When there are ribs on the bar they're usually overdone almost burnt.
First time there. Oh, I enjoyed it very much. Had never tasted mutton. I fell in love! Was recommended by a friend. Glad I was able to experience this! Price is well worth it, affordable! Sat by the fireplace on a chilly day.
They rave about how great and wonderful the food is. I thought it was alright. I wouldn't pay the $20.00 of my own money to eat here. I simply can't eat $20.00 worth of food to justify it. But hey, if you don't care about the price then go ahead. Or if you just ran an iron man and are starving for a million calories then go ahead. It really is pretty decent and they have a nice selection. Plus they have a dwarf to greet you every time at the door. Who doesn't want to have a dwarf greet you?!?
The BBQ has been great each time I've visited here. The buffet is pricey but was worth it to me on my first visit, I wanted to try some of everything. For a busy dinner crowd the cooks can keep up and keep the buffet stocked. If you have some room left after eating their desserts are killer. Other than the buffet price, no complaints from me. I will be back!
